Meet Charlie, a super soft weighted puppy dog made for cuddles that feel like a warm, steady hug.

At 1.5 kg, Charlie is heavier than an ordinary plush toy. The weight is inspired by Deep Pressure Touch Stimulation (DPTS): gentle, even pressure on your child's lap or chest, similar to the feeling of a firm hug. Many families keep their Buddy close at bedtime, in the car, at school drop off or anywhere new.

Charlie is one of our five senses friends and stands for smell. Each Buddy in the set stands for a different sense, a gentle way to talk with your child about noticing what they can see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

Charlie is filled with soft PP cotton and natural mineral stones for weight, and infused with dried French lavender flowers for a relaxing scent.

Warm or cool your Buddy

To warm: 500 to 750 W microwave, maximum 60 seconds. 800 to 1000 W microwave, maximum 30 seconds. Always check the temperature before giving it to a child.

To cool: place on a clean surface or in a bag in the fridge or freezer for up to a few hours.

Caring for Charlie

Charlie is a comfort companion rather than a rough play toy. Spot clean only, do not machine wash, and check regularly for wear. Stop using if the toy becomes damaged.

After experiencing postnatal depression, Jacqueline began looking more deeply at mindfulness and emotional wellbeing for herself and her daughter.

One thing stayed with her: when children are overwhelmed, they don’t always need us to talk them out of how they feel.

“Sometimes a child doesn’t need us to fix the feeling. They just need something comforting to hold while it passes.”

That’s why the weight is wrapped inside a friend. The idea was to create sensory support that still feels soft, familiar and easy for a child to make their own.
