After experiencing postnatal depression, Jacqueline began looking more deeply at mindfulness and emotional wellbeing for herself and her daughter.

One thing stayed with her: when children are overwhelmed, they don’t always need us to talk them out of how they feel.

“Sometimes a child doesn’t need us to fix the feeling. They just need something comforting to hold while it passes.”

That’s why the weight is wrapped inside a friend. The idea was to create sensory support that still feels soft, familiar and easy for a child to make their own.

Fun fact: Some Buddies, including Charlie, Frankl and Pickles, were inspired by real pets from Jacqueline’s own life!
